(On the emotions of his first NFL preseason game)
"It was pretty cool, you know. I've got to thank my Lord and savior Jesus Christ just for this moment. This is something I've been working towards for a very long time. These are dreams that every kid who plays sports has of playing in the big leagues, at the highest level you can. So, to be able to do that tonight, there's definitely a lot of emotions going on, a lot of excitement. I was anxious a little bit coming out, but it felt good to be able to get my feet [under me] and get my first reps in the NFL."
(On how it felt making his first reception and if that was the moment that made him realize he was really playing in the NFL)
"No, I wouldn't even say it was that. It was probably just the first snap. When the ball is snapped and either it's a pass play or a run play… 'J-Mac' (Jalen McMillan) was able to get it on the very first play, so that kind of got me loose and got me ready to go because I train next to him every day, and he pours a lot of confidence into me, so I was able to go out there and kind of just feed off of that. To have him by my side made it much easier, as well."
(On playing alongside Jalen McMillan and what they could become in the future)
"We've been doing it all [throughout] practice, like I said, just feeding off each other, going back and forth – the energy is there. I've known him for a while, too. He played for a 7-on-7 team in Washington, where I'm from, so I've known him since high school. So, to be able to be on the same team as him, we're just going to push each other every day and try to do this at the highest level that we can."
(On if this is how things played out back in the 7-on-7 days with he and McMillan)
"No, so we played on rival teams. I would say I got the better of him back in those days for sure. He would probably agree… Nah, he wouldn't agree [laughs]. We go back and forth. We were rivals in high school, and now we're made teammates. I was a huge fan of him his entire college career, obviously, with me being from Washington. They were in the consideration set when I was coming out of high school, just to see what they were able to do. Their wide receiver corps – they had tons of guys, and 'J-Mac' was a star in that room. I've been a huge fan of his for a long time, and I'm excited to be able to play alongside him."
(On what parts of the preseason experience have been helpful to his development)
"I think something that really helped was the joint practice. You're going against your own team the entire time [throughout training camp], and you don't really know what to expect of the other team and the other DBs, and how they're going to stack up, so the joint practice kind of knocked off some dust and I was able to get my feet underneath me. So, coming out here for this game, I was a little more confident and I knew what I was going into. This preseason, I'm trying to gain momentum, build momentum, get my feet underneath me and learn as much as I can. [I want to just] carry this over and be whatever my team needs from me in the regular season."
