CamJed

NASHVILLE – It's time.

Well, almost.

After a long offseason, training camp and preseason, the regular season is upon us.

A few NFL Week 1 games have already been played, in fact.

The Titans kick off on Sunday in Denver.

Let's jump into the weekend mailbag to check the pulse…

William Young from Las Vegas, Nevada

Question: Hi Jim, I pray all is well and I'm ready for a Great season! I understand why so many people are picking the Titans to win just 6 games this season? Mainly because we haven't been good over the last 3 to 4 seasons! But I'm High on the Titans this year! And because they are playing in Mile High this week I'll pick them to win 23 to 21 over the Broncos! And to finish on a high note, I pick the Titans to go 10-7 this year and make the playoffs! And a bonus, Cam Ward throws over 4,000 yards! Mark it down!

Jim: Noted, William. I'll remember this prediction in January. See in in Vegas next month.

Harry Prentiss from Murrells Inlet, South Carolina

Question: I believe this offense if the retooled O Line can keep Ward upright this offense can be be pretty darn good. I'm not sure that Callahan is capable of both being both the play caller and the man in charge as last year he was ill equipped to do both although to be fair that offense could have made anybody look bad. Is it smoother this year with Cam already looking better than our QBs last year?

Jim: I think things will be smoother this year, in Year 2 of Callahan. Let's face it, he didn't have a lot to work with last season, and the QB situation doomed the team. I think there's reason, or reasons, to believe things will be better this year.

John Olive from Nolanville, Texas

Question: Hey Jim, what is going on with Titans Radio. From midway last season to the start of this one. I'm u able to listen to the games. Have tried 104.5 app with no luck. I live in Texas but originally from Henry County. Help a Titan fan out. How can I listen to the games.

Jim: Hey John. Good question, and I learned something on this. I took your question to Rhett Bryan, Executive Director of Titans Radio. His response: So, the NFL has a geo fence around the markets. 150 mile radius from Nashville. This includes the Titans App and 1045 the Zone app. If you listen from a (desktop) computer, not an app via Titans or 1045, you can listen anywhere in the world. The alternatives are: Sirius XM subscription or NFL+ subscription. Hope this helps.

Hector Hernandez from Teziutlan, Puebla; Mexico

Question: Que tal Jim como estas?

Extraño a mi padre.

Bobby French from Camden, Tennessee

Question: Dear Jim, I asked an A.I.(gronk) what 3 plays are the most likely to give Cam Ward the most success to throw a touchdown. They are as follows:(1)Deep Flood (Gun Bunch) 2.Curl-Flat (Gun Trips TE) 3.RPO (Run-Pass Option) with a Slant/Go Read (Shotgun). Jim, do you think the A.I. is correct in its assessment?

Jim: Not sure about A.I. as a playcaller, Bobby. We'll see what Callahan has cooked up.

Christian Drolet from Quebec City, Canada

Question: Hi Jim. Before the 2024 season, many Power Rankings put the Washington Commanders in the bottom of the league (between 26 and 30). Do you think it is exaggerated to dream of Titans being the Commanders of 2025?

Merci et bonne journée!

Jim: I think that's the hope, but those are some lofty goals. Merci et bonne journée!

Ramon Fuentes from Antioch, Tennessee

Question: PLEASE GET SOME OXYGEN TANK READY FOR THE DENVER GAME.

Jim: Personally, I think Broncos are more of a concern.

KD Thompson from Nashville, Tennessee

Question: Just wanted to reach back out for anyone else who is fearful of bad team circumstances hurting our rookie QB, just know that Russell Wilson & Peyton Manning won QB competitions as rookies, and eventually won super bowls with their teams! Cam Ward's poise is ahead of his years and our O-line should be a different animal this year. HAVE HOPE & TITAN UP

Jim: Thanks for weighing in, KD.

Bob Easley from Austin, Texas

Question: Hey Jim, I'm excited about the season ahead and project a 9 win season😀✅.

However, my question is beyond this season. I understand that Levis remains under contract through next season. Please confirm this, but if true, this is of value to the organization as Levis could potentially be our #2 QB next year or could have some trade value. So, my question is, how did his surgery go and is the projection that he will be able to return to action next training camp? Or could it possibly even be this year that he could return so if a game late this season is decided in the 3rd quarter, he could go out and demonstrate his recovery? I just don't see any news about his recovery. Thanks in advance. Bob

Jim: Hey Bob. Per Brian Callahan, Will's surgery went well. He's not playing this year, I know that. Check back in January or February about his prospects for next season. Will has to get healthy first, and right now it's all about Cam.

Evan Foust from Champaign, Illinois

Question: What's going on Jim? So out of all the free agents the titans signed this offseason, which one or two are you most excited about seeing playing this upcoming season?

Jim: Hmmm. Curious to see how Dan Moore performs, and looking forward to seeing Cody Barton in action as well. Also, it's going to be cool watching Tyler Lockett work after seeing him from afar for so many years.

Greg Greenwell from Nashville, Tennessee

Question: Because rookie QBs often are difficult to prepare for, the Titans jump to 7-10 this season after fixing three things: 1) offensive line (with the help of getting rid of the ball quicker), 2) ST blunders and 3) turnover differential. Titans were only completely out of three games last season - Bills, Lions and Commanders.

Back to the 7-10 prediction, tell me your thoughts on these wins:

W2 - Rams

W3 - Colts

W5 - @Cardinals

W11 - Texans

W13 - Jaguars

W15 - @49ers

W17 - Saints

Jim: I don't do predictions any more, Greg. My thoughts on those wins? They'd all be good ones…

Have a great weekend everyone!
