NASHVILLE – Happy New Year!
The Titans will wrap up the 2025 season on Sunday with their first game in 2026.
After Sunday's game in Jacksonville, we'll have to wait seven months for the Titans to take the field again.
There will be a lot to talk about in the coming months.
Let's see what there is to talk about in here this weekend…

Ben Mead from Cooperstown, New York
Question: Hey there Jim! I have held off from writing to your mailbag this year just because it's hardly been a year worth writing about. But this rookie class has really come on and is hopefully the first step towards building something in Tennessee. My question for you is do you see the front office bringing Chig back next year or is his time in Tennessee done? He has really showed that he can contribute the way a lot of us hoped he would. But with addition of Gunner Helm is he still a good fit or do you see them looking for more of a blocking type TE2?
Jim: Hey Ben. This is a good question, and right now, it's a tough one to answer. I like Chig myself, and I said in here recently I wouldn't mind seeing a tight end room that included Chig Okonkwo, Gunnar Helm and David Martin-Robinson again in 2026. I think all three have the potential to keep getting better. But, I'm also intrigued at some other possibilities out there as well. We need to find out who the next head coach is going to be, and how he likes Chig. Here's what Chig said when he was asked about it this week: "I want to be here. My agents know that, so we'll see how it all plays out. I definitely would want to be a part of the core people that watched this place grow, from where we're at now to a winning organization. I definitely want to be a part of that. I believe in the vision, the things going on. I believe in Cam. I think it would be a great place for me to be in the future." Stay tuned.
Gerry Santiago from Miami, Florida
Question: Hi Jim: I am writing to you from Miami on January 1 and still on a high after the UM thumping of Ohio State. As Cam will tell you, just ask him, it's all about the U. And since I am a big Titans fan now because of Cam, I will give you a little bit of advice I know Cam will support. This is what we need to hear in April: "With the 4th pick in the 2026 draft, the Tennessee Titans select Reuben Bain, Jr., defensive lineman from the University of Miami." Make it happen Jim! I have faith in you!
Jim: Hi Gerry. I watched that game, and I was impressed by the Hurricanes. What a dominating performance. I've seen Cam and Xavier since, and they were happy. And yes, I noticed Bain all game myself. What a beast. If the Titans end up taking him in the upcoming draft, I'm betting I'd get a lot more emails from South Florida…
Mitch Wilson from Murfreesboro, Tennessee
Question: Jim, What do you see as the Titans team needs for the 2026 draft/free agency and how do you think they will attack it FA or draft by position. Lack of depth by position for draft 2026 may drive Free Agent prices up especially in the positions the Titans need to improve. The Titans need to stop paying FAs well above what they are worth if they are going to be competitive in the future. The Titans still have issues on the O-line...age and depth; Their biggest need is WR1; A very close second is Edge ...both talent and depth; And everyone needs CBs especially the Titans. They also need a backup QB with the potential to be a starter. Someone who aspires to be more than a backup. I have no confidence that Levis will stick around. Levis will never start for the Titans unless Ward gets hurt. Ward's durability is the one edge he has over Levis. Second question: Has Ward and the last draft class done enough to stop the steady loss of quality players in free agency?
Jim: Hey Mitch. Cornerback, edge rusher, receiver, in no particular order. Impossible to say how they'll attack each position right now, whether it's in free agency and/or the draft. We need to see who re-signs with their current team, who is franchised, etc. … As for your last question, I don't agree with your theory that guys have left because they didn't believe in things around here. There's always more to it than that, and a lot of it has to do with $, and the team going in a different direction.
Trout Dawg from Long Beach, California
Question: Any talk of getting Chig a contract? I know he was drafted by previous regime,, Helm and Chig would a nice tandem moving forward,,Titans have been playing great last few weeks , super excited about the new group of guys,, it's a long season ,,remember when Baker Mayfield was all the rage ,, or how about Daniels ,, Cam is available and looks really sturdy,, walk around and ask people who are the Titans weapons ?? LOL ,,no one knows ,,( we know) ,, point being Cam is working with a bunch of rookies on offense and on defense,, the team plays hard and penalties have improved,, LFG! Titan up and bababoooeeeyyy to you all.
Jim: Hey Trout Dawg. I'm sure you saw where I discussed this earlier with Ben. … I agree with you on Cam. The Titans need to make it a priority to find him more weapons.
Jim Castellanos from Houston, Texas
Question: Hey Jim! Longtime fan here. Really random question but I've noticed the Titans have only worn two uniform combos all year. Is there any reasoning behind this? Also with the new NFL Rivalry uniforms coming for us next year, will they use these as a test run of a whole new set for 2027 or can we expect a new set before then?
Jim: Hey Jim. That was actually the plan all along. I wrote about it at the start of the season, about the team's intentions to be more consistent with their uniforms all season. And, as you've noticed, it was light blue over white over light blue for every home game, and all white on the road. It made for a boring Britches Report, I know, although I did notice this week's tweet got 1.3 million views. We'll see what's decided for 2026 and if there's a wardrobe change for 2027. This is another one that falls into the 'Stay Tuned' category.
Andy Choate from Lenoir City, Tennessee
Question: Hello Jim! Hope you and yours had a wonderful Christmas! Not a question, but a statement. I think the kids played a heck of a game, but just simply couldn't get it done. The mascots were the better team. There's always next year! Hope Blooper gets better soon! Happy New Year!
Jim: I hear ya, Andy. 😊
Here's a look at the Mascots vs Kids highlights you're referring to:
Simon Pipkin from Bradenton, Florida
Question: Happy New Year Jim!! I have heard or read several media segments tying to predict or make the case for potential coaching candidates. Like Matt Nagy, Mike McCarthy, Robert Saleh, and a few more OCs and DCS. I am not sure the level you are able to speak to this, but I am curious if there are any coaches out there that you hope the Titans take a look at. Looking forward to next season!!
Jim: Hey Simon. Well, I've loved seeing folks weigh in. I've gotten a lot of emails in favor of Jon Gruden, too.
I better hold off naming my favorite. (Hint: It's probably going to be the guy who is ultimately hired.) 😊
Have a great weekend everyone!
