Please review the brief description of each nominee before voting:

John Webb, Rockwood High School:Coach Webb's Rockwood Tigers defeated the Class A third-ranked Greenback Cherokees 28-21. The Tigers played a steady game, controlling the clock and running 67 plays while only allowing the Cherokees to run 46 plays. Rockwood had not beaten Greenback in the past three years.

Brian Waite, East Nashville High School:Waite's East Nashville Eagles defeated the Maplewood Panthers in a close one, 21-20. Down 20-7 at halftime, the Eagles conducted a tremendous rally, converting three fourth downs and leading to 14 unanswered points. This is East Nashville's first win against Maplewood since 2009.

*Stacy Carter, Science Hill High School: *Coach Carter's Science Hill Hilltoppers defeated the Tennessee High Vikings 35-33 on the road. Coach Carter sat out his starting QB, WR/DB and TE/LB, who were all dealing with injuries prior to the game. In addition to those athletes, Science Hill also lost players to injury during the game. The Hilltoppers remained diligent and stopped a late fourth-quarter comeback to seal the win.

Ernie Jackson, Haywood High School:Coach Jackson's Haywood Tomcats defeated the Ripley Tigers 26-24. The Tomcats fended off a late rally by the Tigers by showing a great defensive effort that prevented a game-tying two-point conversion with 1:34 remaining. This was Haywood's first district win.

The winner of the Coach of the Week grant will receive a $1,000 grant to help a deserving school provide funds for equipment, turf treatment or upgrades to their field house!
