NASHVILLE – Calvin Ridley spent a good part of his media availability over the weekend talking about those around him, from Carnell Tate to Elic Ayomanor to the group as a whole.
He was extremely complimentary.
"This is one of the deepest rooms I've been in – three, four, five, six, seven guys I think, it's really deep," Ridley said. "If we do what we have to do, get on the same page as our quarterback, we could push."
But Ridley made two other things very clear.
More than anything else, Ridley said he wants to win.
"If we win games," he said, "that will be the best thing for me. I don't really care about individual success as long as we win."
Ridley also made it clear he believes he's more than capable of helping this team.
In fact, this is what Ridley said when asked about Tate and others mentioning him as a player they looked up to:
"That's because I used to kick ass," Ridley said with a smile. "And I still can."
Heading into his eighth NFL season, Ridley has plans of helping the Titans in 2026.
Ridley is the most experienced receiver in the room, with 90 games played, and 405 catches, 5,678 receiving yards and 40 touchdowns in his career.
Ridley was quick to respond when asked if he still has the speed, and ability, to succeed.
"Hell yeah," he said. "(I) can still beat all of them, still as fast as all of them."
Coming off a season when he was limited to just seven games because of an injury, which limited his work in the offseason, Ridley is focused on staying healthy.
If he does that, he's going to be a difference-maker, he said.
"If I stay healthy, I am going to be a good player on this team," he said. "I am going to contribute on this team."
And yes, he wants it to be on a winning team.
"I just want to win," he said. "I just want to be a good help to the team, to my teammates in the room, to the young guys, and encourage them. And just win. If we win games, that will be the best thing for me. I don't really care about individual success as long as we win."
