Titans Sign 2009 Draft Pick Nick Schommer

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -** The Tennessee Titans have signed safety Nick Schommer to a multi-year contract.

The Titans selected Schommer with their second seventh-round selection (242nd overall) out of North Dakota State University in the 2009 NFL Draft. The 6-foot, 201-pounder earned third-team Associated Press All-American honors to cap a four-year career in which he tallied 186 tackles, one sack, 6.5 tackles for loss, 13 interceptions, 33 passes defensed and one forced fumble in 41 games (41 starts). His interception total tied for third on the school's all-time career list. As a senior, the Prescott, Wis., native started 10 games and earned first-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honors after posting 54 tackles, three interceptions, 4.5 tackles for loss, 12 passes defensed and one sack.

Schommer is the first of Tennessee's 11 draft picks from 2009 to sign with the club.
