NASHVILLE – The Titans selected Michigan running back Kalel Mullings in the sixth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday.
Mullings, selected with the 188th overall pick, has an interesting name.
"Yeah, I'm named after Superman," he said. "Most people know Superman as Clark Kent, but on Krypton, his home planet, his name is Kal-El with a hyphen. So, my parents put it together, Kalel, and you know, that's me."
The Titans hope Mullings will be a difference maker in Tennessee.
At Michigan, Mullings ran for 948 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024 while playing in 12 games.
Mullings (6-2, 226) finished his college career with 1,210 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 235 carries.
Mullings knows all about the history of running backs with the Titans.
"So obviously, Derrick Henry is a future Hall of Fame running back, amazing player," he said. "But it's funny, when I was five, six-years-old playing Madden, Madden 09, Madden 10, Chris Johnson was a cheat code, he was my favorite player and just being able to follow in those footsteps and put on that baby blue is amazing."
