NASHVILLE – The Titans have announced the addition of four coaches who have joined head coach Robert Saleh's staff for training camp as part of the NFL's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship program: D'Anthony Batiste (offensive line), Malik Davis (defensive line), Ben Wilkerson (special teams) and Lucy Phan (performance).
The program's objective is to use NFL clubs' training camps, offseason workout programs and minicamps to give talented coaches opportunities to observe, participate, gain experience and ultimately obtain a full-time NFL coaching position.
This is the second of two fellowship classes the club has welcomed in 2026. The current class will assist the coaching staff for the duration of training camp.
Titans running backs coach Randy Jordan will continue to serve as the club's Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship Coordinator, as announced in the spring.
"I am honored to serve as the coordinator of the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship," Jordan said in May. "This is an opportunity for coaches to continue to learn and grow professionally. Knowing the impact this program has had on coaches who have participated, I'm excited to help this group gain valuable experience while working with our staff during our offseason training."
D'Anthony Batiste returns to the Titans after working primarily with the team's offensive line room during the spring. The former NFL offensive tackle will serve in a similar role during training camp. Batiste is currently a strength and conditioning intern for the football and baseball teams at the University of Las Vegas. He spent the previous eight seasons (2018-25) with the Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, where he served as a strength and conditioning assistant. After playing collegiately at Louisiana-Lafayette (2001-03), Batiste spent one year in the Arena Football League (2004) and two in law enforcement (2004-06) before signing with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League and then joining the Dallas Cowboys in 2006. His eight-season NFL career included stints with the Cowboys (2006), Panthers (2006-07), Falcons (2007-08), Commanders (2008-09), Broncos (2009-10), Cardinals (2010-12) and Steelers (2013). He played 37 NFL games with 14 starts before returning to the CFL in 2014. He announced his retirement from football in 2018. A native of Marksville, La., Batiste served as a sheriff deputy before his pro football career. In 2005, he patrolled hospitals and neighborhoods in Lafayette after the area became a refuge for those affected by Hurricane Katrina. Batiste earned his bachelor's degree in behavioral science from Louisiana Lafayette and his Master's degree in exercise science from Concordia University.
Malik Davis will work with the Titans defensive line during the fellowship. Davis has served as a defensive line analyst/defensive graduate assistant at Texas A&M since February 2025. He is also currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sport Management at the school. Prior to Texas A&M, Davis spent time at the University of Cincinnati as a defensive graduate assistant in 2023. He served in the same role at South Alabama from 2022-23, also working with special teams. Davis began his coaching career as a student at Georgia Southern, serving as a student assistant on defense from 2018-2022. Davis began his college career as a player at Reinhardt University before finishing his undergraduate degree at Georgia Southern.
Ben Wilkerson, who will work with the Titans special teams, arrives in Tennessee after joining the coaching staff at Dartmouth College in March as the team's running backs coach. He spent three seasons (2023-25) as running backs coach/recruiting coordinator at Fordham University prior to joining Dartmouth. Since beginning his college coaching career as a quarterbacks coach at Buffalo State (2019) and Susquehanna (2020), Wilkerson served as assistant wide receivers coach/offensive quality control at the University at Buffalo (2020-21) before transitioning to running backs at Arkansas-Pine Bluff (2022). As a player, Wilkerson finished his college career at SUNY Alfred State in 2015 before spending time as a quarterback and offensive coordinator in American football leagues in Germany and Finland (2016-18). He also played in the Indoor Football League in 2019.
Lucy Phan will support the sports performance staff during her fellowship. Phan's extensive sports science experience has led to her current post as Manager of Sport Science, Return to Performance & Research, at Children's Health Andrews Institute in Plano, Texas, a role she took on in 2023. Prior to that, she wore several hats at Sports Academy in Frisco, Texas, operating as Return-to-Play Manager, Sport Science Manager and Performance Coach from 2020-22. Phan spent time in the college ranks as an assistant sports performance coach and applied sport scientist at Stanford in 2020. Phan's sports performance experience also includes stops as an assistant high school strength coach and at performance centers in the Los Angeles area. While participating in track and field at the University of California, Irvine, Phan served with the school's sports medicine department and as an assistant pole vault coach from 2014-17.
The Titans currently have seven full-time coaches on staff who began their NFL career as a Bill Walsh Fellow: Trevor Browder (Titans, 2024), Dalton Hilliard (Commanders, 2025), Greg Lewis (Eagles, 2012), Tony Oden (Packers, 1999; Browns, 2000), Ahmed Saleh (49ers, 2021; Packers, 2024), Rayna Stewart (Colts, 2004), and Isaac Williams (Chiefs, 2021).
