NASHVILLE – The Titans have released veteran kicker Cairo Santos, one day after a bad outing in the team's 14-7 loss to the Buffalo Bills.

Also, the team on Monday waived offensive lineman David Quessenberry.

Santos, signed prior to the start of the season, went 0-for-4 in Sunday's loss, missing field goals of 33 (blocked), 36, 50 and 53 yards. In five games this season, Santos made 4-of-9 kicks and all 12 of his extra point attempts.

"It was a very painful, extremely disappointing day," Santos said after the contest. "I don't feel sorry for myself, I feel sorry for my teammates and coaches that work hard all week, including myself. I feel sorry for my teammates, my coaches and they deserve to win and I have just got to do a better job."

Quessenberry played in the team's first four games, but he was inactive on Sunday. The offensive tackle caught a touchdown pass in the team's game against the Colts earlier this season.

The Titans now have two open roster sports on their 53-man roster.

Kicker Ryan Succop, placed on Injured Reserve at the start of the season, isn't eligible to join the 53-man roster again until after Week 8.
