NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Taywan Taylor has been one of the bright spots for the Titans this offseason.
The rookie receiver is now officially under contract after signing with the team on Monday.
Taylor, selected in the third round (72nd overall) of the NFL Draft, became the eighth player from the nine-player draft class to reach a deal with the team. Now, only first-round pick Corey Davis remains unsigned.
Taylor starred at Western Kentucky, where he racked up 98 catches for a record 1,730 yards and 17 touchdowns during his senior season. Taylor posted nine games with 100 yards receiving, second-most nationally, and he had 11 games of catching at least one touchdown.
He finished his college career with 253 catches for 4,234 yards and 41 touchdowns.
Taylor said recently his first month in the NFL has been a great experience.
"Being out there with guys you grew up watching, never did I think I would be out there practicing with Marcus Mariota and DeMarco Murray, but it is real now," Taylor said. "But I want to embrace it and utilize those guys, because they are here to help me, just like they told me. They said they see the energy in me, and they see the competitiveness and they see the talent.
"Some of the guys, they told me I can definitely do this, that I can play in this league. They can see it in me. And that motivates me to work even harder and to keep pushing myself. One of my goals is to be out there week one and to help this team win. And I told coach I am willing to do whatever it takes.
"I am going to do whatever I can to help this team win."
