Titans LT Taylor Lewan Working Under HOF Mike Munchak

ORLANDO, Fla. –** Mike Munchak is a Hall of Famer.

Titans tackle Taylor Lewan is a two-time Pro Bowler who is trying to get there.

Here this week at the Pro Bowl, Lewan is working under Munchak, who is the offensive line coach for the AFC team.

"The guy is an all-timer, a Hall of Famer," Lewan said of Munchak. "Guys like him and Russ Grimm, they're just salt of the earth dudes.

"Just to be around him, there's a certain presence he's got for being a Hall of Fame guy, and having as much success as he's had playing and coaching. He's up there with (coaches) Dick LeBeau and Russ Grimm. It is awesome to be around guys like that. You sort of soak up their energy."

Munchak, offensive line coach with the Steelers, made it to nine Pro Bowls during his 12-year career as an offensive lineman with the Houston Oilers. Munchak served as head coach of the Titans from 2011-13 before joining the Steelers in 2014.

Lewan, a left tackle, arrived in Tennessee in 2014 as a first-round pick out of Michigan.

Munchak said he's enjoyed being around Lewan.

"He's a lot of fun," Munchak said. "He has a passion for the game and enjoys what he does."

Munchak said he remembers Lewan heading into the NFL Draft.

He's been impressed with his development. Lewan has started 53 of 58 games over the past four NFL seasons, and he's started 16 games in each of the past two seasons.

"I am glad to see how well he is doing," Munchak said of Lewan. "He has a bright future. The o-line does a great job picking each other's brains, how to handle certain things. He takes a lot of pride in his job, and you can tell it means a lot to him to be one of the best in the league.

"They have a great young line in Tennessee, and I think he is really excited about what is going to happen moving forward. It is great to get to know him a little bit."
