Titans Lose Two Players to Achilles' Injuries

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Tennessee cornerback Ryan Mouton will have surgery to repair his right Achilles' tendon, making him the second player to have his season ended by that injury since training camp opened.

Mouton was hurt late in Tuesday night's practice in what appeared to be an ankle injury. An MRI on Wednesday showed the severity of the injury. Rookie free agent receiver O.J. Murdock's injured his Achilles on Sunday.

Titans coach Mike Munchak says he doesn't think the NFL lockout has anything to do with the injuries. He notes both occurred with no contact, and he says the game has always been that way.

Mouton, going into his third season, had been expected to provide crucial depth in the secondary and has been a gunner on punt coverage.
