NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Titans have added more competition on the offensive line.

On Thursday, the team claimed offensive tackle John Theus off waivers from the New Orleans Saints. Theus was waived by the Saints on Wednesday.

A fifth-round draft pick by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2016 NFL Draft, Theus has played in four games, with one start during his NFL career. He's also spent time with the Carolina Panthers. All of his game action came during the 2016 season.

Theus (6-6, 303) played collegiately at the University of Georgia, where he signed as a five-star recruit. Theus played both left and right tackle in college.

The Titans waived/injured defensive lineman Antwaun Woods to make room for Theus on the 90-man roster.

This offseason, the Titans have now added 12 veterans either in free agency or the NFL's waiver system. In March, the Titans signed veteran offensive linemen Kevin Pamphile (Buccaneers) and Xavier Su'a-Filo (Texans), who both have experience across the offensive line while playing in the NFL.
