Titans-Bills Week 7 Postgame Notes

TEAM NOTES

  • The Titans won the time-of-possession battle for the third consecutive game and for the fourth time in 2024, holding the ball against the Bills for 32 minutes and 46 seconds.
  • Titans tight ends Chig Okonkwo (four receptions for 50 yards), Nick Vannett (four for 25 yards) and Josh Whyle (three for 34 yards) combined for 11 receptions for 109 yards at Buffalo. Those were the highest combined totals by the team's tight ends in a game since Dec. 11, 2022 against Jacksonville, when Titans tight ends caught 11 passes for 113 yards.
  • The Titans defense limited the Bills to three third-down conversions on 10 attempts (30.0 percent). It was the third time within the first six games of 2024 that the defense limited the opposing offense to 30.0 percent or less on third down.
  • The Titans defense opened the game by forcing three consecutive three-and-outs against the Bills offense. The Bills netted 18 yards on nine plays during those three drives.
  • The Titans defense allowed the Bills offense to record only three first downs in the first half. It was the lowest total by a Titans opponent in the first half of a game since the Texans had three total first downs in the first two quarters at Houston on Oct. 30, 2022.
  • The Bills rushed for 74 yards against the Titans, who went into the week with the NFL's ninth-ranked rushing defense. The 74 rushing yards were the fewest by a Titans opponent in 2024 through six games.

CB DARRELL BAKER JR.

  • Registered his seventh career start and his first start in a Titans uniform.
  • Tied for third on the team with five tackles and added a pass defensed.

WR TYLER BOYD

  • Registered 43 yards on a team-high five receptions.
  • His three first downs on receptions set a season high through six games.

CB JARVIS BROWNLEE JR.

  • Ranked second on the team with six tackles and led the squad with two passes defensed.

RB JULIUS CHESTNUT

  • Recorded three rushing attempts for a career-high 15 yards.
  • Added a nine-yard reception.

S QUANDRE DIGGS

  • Tied for third on the squad with five tackles.
  • Extended his streak to 73 consecutive games started. He entered the week trailing only Kevin Byard (127), Patrick Queen (73) and Daron Payne (73) for the NFL's longest active starting streak among defensive players.

T JAELYN DUNCAN

  • Logged his seventh career start, opening the game at right tackle before exiting the contest with an injury in the first quarter.

K NICK FOLK

  • Made a 25-yard field goal in the first quarter and in the second quarter made his only extra point attempt.
  • Extended his all-time NFL-record streak to 80 consecutive field goals made on attempts from less than 40 yards.
  • Made his 18th consecutive field goal, dating back to Nov. 12, 2023. His current streak of successful field goals is the fifth-longest streak of his career and also tied for the eighth-longest streak in team annals. The franchise record for consecutive field goals made is 20, accomplished on five different occasions, including once by Folk in 2023.

LB LUKE GIFFORD

  • Led the team with four special teams tackles. It was his second career game with at least four special teams tackles.
  • Became the first Titans player with four special teams tackles in a game since Hassan Haskins at Kansas City on Nov. 6, 2022.
  • Became the NFL's fifth player in 2024 to record at least four special teams tackles in a game.

OLB JAYLEN HARRELL

  • Credited with a tackle for loss on quarterback Josh Allen in the third quarter.

S AMANI HOOKER

  • Posted three tackles, one tackle for loss and a forced fumble.
  • Credited with his fourth career forced fumble (second of 2024) in the third quarter, knocking the ball out of the grasp of tight end Dalton Kincaid before the ball went out of bounds.

WR DeANDRE HOPKINS

  • Caught a six-yard pass in the second quarter.
  • Extended his active streak to 168 consecutive games with a reception—every game he has played since he entered the NFL. He moved ahead of Keyshawn Johnson (167) for the second-longest such streak to begin a career in NFL history behind only Marvin Harrison (190 consecutive games).

WR JHA'QUAN JACKSON

  • Averaged 27.5 yards on a pair of kickoff returns and totaled eight yards on a pair of punt returns.
  • Returned the opening kickoff of the second half 34 yards.

CB GABE JEUDY-LALLY

  • Made his NFL debut.

LB ERNEST JONES IV

  • Tied for third on the defense with five tackles and added a pass defensed.

OLB ARDEN KEY

  • Totaled two tackles, a team-high two tackles for loss and the defense's only sack.
  • Sacked Josh Allen for an eight-yard loss in the second quarter. It was his first sack of the season, which gave him 21 career sacks.

OLB HAROLD LANDRY III

  • Posted four tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass defensed.
  • Registered the third game of his career with a minimum of four tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass defensed, and his first such performance since Nov. 8, 2020 against Chicago.

LB KENNETH MURRAY JR.

  • Led the team with seven tackles.
  • Logged his fifth consecutive game with at least seven tackles, which is the best such streak of his career.

TE THOMAS ODUKOYA

  • Made his NFL debut. The Netherlands native entered the NFL with the Titans in 2022 as part of the league's International Player Pathway program.

TE CHIG OKONKWO

  • Recorded a team-high 50 receiving yards on four catches.
  • Caught a 26-yard pass from Mason Rudolph in the first quarter. It was the seventh-longest reception of his career.
  • Reached the 100-reception mark for his career (101).
  • Logged his fifth career game with at least 50 receiving yards.

RB TONY POLLARD

  • Recorded a team-high 61 yards on 16 rushing attempts, including a 14-yarder.
  • Added four yards on a pair of receptions.
  • Reached 4,000 rushing yards for his career (4,021).
  • For the first time in his career, he reached 400 rushing yards within his team's first six games of the season.

WR CALVIN RIDLEY

  • Totaled 42 yards on three receptions.
  • Tallied a 33-yard reception on the final play of the first half.

QB MASON RUDOLPH

  • Registered his 14th career start and his first start since joining the Titans as an unrestricted free agent during the 2024 offseason.
  • Completed 25 of 40 attempts for 215 yards with one touchdown and one interception (74.5 passer rating).
  • His 25 completions and his 40 passing attempts were the third-highest single-game totals of his career.
  • Found Chig Okonkwo for a 26-yard connection in the first quarter.
  • Engineered an eight-play, 75-yard drive in the second quarter that ended with his four-yard touchdown pass to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine. It marked his 20th career touchdown pass.
  • Completed a 33-yard pass to Calvin Ridley on the final play of the first half.
  • Added five rushing attempts for 13 yards.

DT JEFFERY SIMMONS

  • Posted two tackles and one pass defensed.

P RYAN STONEHOUSE

  • Averaged 53.2 yards (42.0 net) on five punts in windy conditions.
  • Registered a 62-yard punt in the second quarter, logging his third consecutive game with a punt of at least 62 yards.
  • Recorded his 13th consecutive game with at least one punt of 55-plus yards. He holds the NFL's longest such active streak, which is also the longest streak of his career.

TE NICK VANNETT

  • Appeared in his 100th NFL regular season game.
  • Caught four passes for 25 yards.
  • Logged his fifth career game with at least four catches.

WR NICK WESTBROOK-IKHINE

  • Totaled two receptions for 10 yards and a touchdown.
  • Caught a four-yard touchdown pass from Mason Rudolph in the second quarter, giving him his second touchdown reception of 2024 and his 12th career touchdown grab.
  • Recorded a touchdown reception in consecutive games for the first time in his career.

TE JOSH WHYLE

  • Totaled three catches for 34 yards.
  • All three of his receptions resulted in first downs.
  • His three receptions and 34 receiving yards each ranked second for his career in a single contest through his first 17 career games.
