NASHVILLE – The Titans have done some roster shuffling following this weekend's minicamp.
On Monday, the team signed two players to the active roster who competed in the team's rookie minicamp on a tryout basis.
The additions:
-Receiver TJ Sheffield, a Thompson Station, Tennessee native who finished his college career at Connecticut after playing previously at Purdue. Sheffield was a finalist for the Tennessee Titans Mr. Football award as a senior at Independence High School.
Sheffield totaled 172 receptions for 1,714 yards and 14 touchdowns in his college career.
He's been assigned No. 82 with the Titans.
-Tight end Drake Dabney, who started all 13 games at Texas Christian last season after playing previously at Baylor.
At Baylor, Dabney appeared in 40 games with 24 starts and totaled 65 receptions for 873 yards with eight touchdowns. During his senior season, he set a single-season school record for most receiving yards (552) by a tight end. At TCU, Dabney recorded 19 receptions for 193 yards.
Dabney has been assigned No. 86.
Undrafted free agents who have been waived from the roster:
-Cornerback Virgil Lemons.
-Safety Jerrin Thompson.
