Titans Add Veteran OT Adam Terry to Roster

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -Right tackle David Stewart has a sore left hamstring that could keep him out for a week, so the Tennessee Titans have signed veteran offensive tackle Adam Terry.

The 6-foot-8, 335-pound Terry joined his new teammates on the field during practice Monday but hadn't had a chance to meet head coach Mike Munchak just yet. Terry said it was great to join a team where the offensive line coach is Hall of Fame lineman Bruce Matthews, while Munchak is another Hall of Fame lineman.

"Couple of the best right there,'' Terry said. "They know what it's like to be a player, and now they're coaching us. It's a blast.''

Munchak said the Titans will be a little careful with Stewart and probably keep him out this week while expecting him to be fine after they visit St. Louis on Saturday night. Munchak didn't get a chance to meet Terry before practice. With Terry having a long beard similar to right guard Jake Scott, Munchak didn't realize Terry was on the field at first.

"Before I knew it, he was out there doing reps, so we were waiting for him. We thought he'd be here earlier in practice so I hadn't had a chance to talk to him,'' Munchak said. "When I did look over there, I thought Jake had moved to right tackle.''

The signing gives the Titans 89 players in camp with one slot still open. They also brought in veteran lineman Pat McQuistan last week. Terry isn't worried about coming in with just over a week left in training camp.

"They've learned the offense for 10 days. As a vet, if I can't come in and learn it, like I said, they'll find somebody else,'' Terry said.

Terry was a second-round pick by Baltimore in 2005, and he has started 18 of the 50 career games he has played in. The Ravens placed him on injured reserve in 2009, and he was signed by Indianapolis during the 2010 offseason before being cut in September. He played two games with San Diego before signing with Jacksonville in November.
