NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans are finishing the NFL Draft by stocking up on defense. They selected defensive tackle Zach Clayton of Auburn with the 212th pick overall in the seventh round.
Clayton is 6-foot-3, 296 pounds, and a native of Opelika, Ala. He started all 14 games in 2010 for the national champions, and he posted a career-high 28 tackles and eight for losses. He also got his lone sack against Oregon in the BCS national championship game.
His father is an assistant track and field coach at Auburn, and he qualified for the NCAA outdoor track championships in 2008 in the discus.
Clayton will rejoin his defensive line coach Tracy Rocker with the Titans.
