NASHVILLE – The Titans are getting a boost at the receiver position.

On Saturday, the team activated receiver Marcus Johnson from Injured Reserve, which means he'll be available for Sunday's game vs the Jaguars.

Also on Saturday, the Titans promoted outside linebacker John Simon to the active roster while waiving outside linebacker Sharif Finch. An eight-year veteran who has spent time with the Patriots, Colts, Texans and Ravens in his NFL career, Simon rejoined the team earlier in the week when he signed with the practice squad.

A few more moves related to Sunday's game:

-Defensive lineman Caraun Reid and defensive back Jamal Carter are being elevated for the contest.

-Outside linebacker Bud Dupree and tackle Ty Sambrailo have been downgraded to out for Sunday's game due to injuries.

Johnson spent the last two weeks practicing after being put on the team's "Designated for Return from Injured Reserve" list late last month.

The designation opened up a 21-day window for Johnson to practice with the team. Now, he's on the team's 53-man roster after being activated from IR.

Johnson, who finished last season on the team's practice squad, was one of the stars of the offseason, and training camp.

Prior to joining the Titans, Johnson (6-1, 207) spent five seasons in the NFL after entering the league as an undrafted college free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016.

During the course of his NFL career, Johnson has registered 42 receptions for 679 yards and three touchdowns in 34 games with the Eagles (2016-17) and Indianapolis (2018-20). In 2020 for the Colts, he played in 11 games and tallied 14 receptions for 255 yards.

Titans receiver A.J. Brown will be back in action for the Titans on Sunday after missing last week's game with a hamstring injury. On Friday, the Titans ruled out receiver Julio Jones for Sunday's game.
