Thursday's Titans Quick Hits: Derrick Henry Update, A.J. Brown's Progress and the Injury Report

NASHVILLE – Titans running back Derrick Henry continues to make progress in his return from an early training camp injury.

Earlier this week, Henry practiced for the first time since July 26 – the first day of training camp.

Titans coach Mike Vrabel said on Thursday Henry is showing improvement, but Vrabel wouldn't commit to Henry playing in the team's third preseason contest on Sunday against the Steelers at Nissan Stadium.

"He's continuing to work, and he's continuing to add (to his) workload," Vrabel said of Henry. "We'll see how he does after today and moving forward. We still have a few days, which is nice, to see how he recovers.

"I thought he looked a little better (today), than he did yesterday, for what it's worth."

The Titans open the regular season on September 8 at Cleveland.

What About A.J.?

Titans rookie receiver A.J. Brown left practice the same day as Henry, and he returned last week and played against the Patriots this past Saturday.

Brown didn't have a catch against the Patriots, but he's ahead of Henry in the recovery process. Brown, who didn't have a catch against the Patriots, is expected to play on Sunday against the Steelers.

"It is tough when you are not out there, for any player that loves football," Vrabel said of Brown. "I think we've seen a change in his attitude, and just being able to be out there and practice and improve and be able to help this team."

Brown said he's still working on his conditioning, and Vrabel said it's part of the process in getting him ready for the start of the season.

Injury Update

Linebacker Harold Landry, running back Dalyn Dawkins, running back David Fluellen, linebacker Josh Smith and tight end Ryan Hewitt did not practice on Thursday.

Guard Nate Davis was on the field again for the start of individual drills.
