NASHVILLE, Tenn. –** The Titans just wrapped up practice on Wednesday at Saint Thomas Sports Park.

On Sunday, the team will face the Texans in Houston.

Three quick hits from today:

**

Davis making progress**

Titans receiver Corey Davis has already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans.

The team's fifth overall pick in the NFL Draft said he's making progress, however. Davis re-aggravated his hamstring injury on September 17 against the Jaguars, and he'll miss his second straight game.

"One day at a time, I am making progress," Davis said. "I am staying in it mentally. Just because I can't go out there and run routes, the mental game is still there. I just have to stay in the playbook so when I do come back I'll be ready to hit the ground running."

Davis played well in the opener against the Raiders, hauling in six catches for 64 yards.

He played more sparingly against the Jaguars, and he watched on the sideline against Seattle.

"I hate it," Davis said.  "I watch and learn, and I pick up as I watch. My teammates have been great, though, supportive as usual."

Coach Mike Mularkey said he understands how Davis is feeling.

"If he is not (frustrated), I'd be surprised," Mularkey said. "Anybody that is not playing, not getting a chance, if you are competitor it is tough. But he doesn't show it. He has a great attitude, and he is a great, great kid."

Slowing down Watson**

The Titans faced an elusive quarterback on Sunday in Seattle's Russell Wilson.

This Sunday, they'll defend against another mobile quarterback in Houston's Deshaun Watson, who already has 124 rushing yards on 15 carries this season.

"We practiced last week for it, and we are doing it this week," Mularkey said. "I think it helped the way we did practice, so I think it is a benefit to us. Very similar guys making plays all the way to the end."

Watson scored on a 49-yard touchdown run against the Bengals, but it's his ability to stay alive in the pocket that's also a concern.

"You have to cover until the whistle," Mularkey said.

Titans linebacker Avery Williamson said the team will be ready.

"Russell is one of the best guys in the league in getting away from defenders," Williamson said. "(Guys) know what to expect. I feel like (Watson) is not as elusive as Wilson, but he can make plays and extend plays with his athletic ability."

Injuries

In addition to Davis, safety Johnathan Cyprien (hamstring) has also been ruled out.

Tight end Delanie Walker (hamstring) missed Wednesday's practice, and Mularkey said the Titans "are just being smart with him."

"He's day to day," Mularkey said.

Linebacker Erik Walden (groin) also missed practice.
