Q: What did you see on your 18-yard reception in overtime?
KELCE: "Just trying to make a play when the ball is in the air. That's as simple as I can put it."
Q: How much do you rely on your relationship with Mahomes on a play like that?
KELCE: "There's a lot of trust. There's a lot of trust with all of the receivers and Patrick. That's the best part of it – when you see guys emerge like 83 (TE Noah Gray) at the end of the game there, coming up huge with a big play down the field over the middle. You put your heart out there on the field, you're very prideful of how you play, but it's the work ethic throughout the week that helps get you ready to make those kinds of plays. Just happy for the team when we do."
Q: How would you describe this rivalry the Chiefs have with the Titans?
KELCE: "We respect the hell out of the Titans. We know they have that bully mentality. They were talking about how they don't really respect our offense – or our team in general – going into it, so we knew we had to bring the physicality and play a full, four-quarter game. Sure enough, it even went further than four quarters tonight."
Q: Is a win any more satisfying with the way you had to come through at the end?
KELCE: "I think we can get excited over any win we can get in the National Football League. I've been here for a while, and I've had some wild ones. This one here feels pretty damn good because of the team that we have, the makeup that we have and how we had to step up."
Q: Are you surprised with how Mahomes responded when he needed to attempt 68 passes tonight?
KELCE: "Now we know that if we need him to throw 70 passes, we can get it done."
Q: How about the defense in the second half?
KELCE: "You can't say enough about how the defense played. That's the No. 1 running back in the league, he's an absolute beast for a reason. He got off early a little bit. Then we refocused and they were pretty much lights-out from that point on and that helped us actually win this game. It kept us in it."
