Were they doing anything differently once you got into the red zone or anything like that, defensively on anything you weren't prepared for or anything?
No, they weren't doing anything, they were playing what we thought they were going to play and we still got to execute.
Obviously, you had to lead at halftime, what do you think kind of went wrong for you guys in the second half?
I think when we came back, we were just a little flat. They came out and they got a couple of chunk plays and went down and scored. And then from there, we just were flat on offense. And you saw we came back and we got the turnover, which kind of just compiling mistakes and just put us down.
Why do you think that is, you guys came out flat after having the lead at half?
I'm not sure, like I said, it just comes down to making a play and then also with the penalties, you can't start off coming out on special teams and have penalties. So, things like that, it keeps us behind the sticks and doesn't let us play the ball that we know.
Do you think there's anything you guys can do differently to try and tackle the penalties issue?
Differently, I'm not sure because that was our number one thing this offseason and I feel like this offseason, we did a good job with limiting our penalties. We have all the data when we practice and stuff. So, when we have a percentage that we try to hit, and we were hitting those percentages, I think now when it just comes to game time, a lot of guys in new positions, maybe first time in a position. Not a lot games under their belt, just got to be able to calm down, keep their composure, and be able just to run the offense with the team.
Cam Ward, is he even a guy you need to talk with after an 0-2 to start?
Nah, Cam's (Ward) going to be good. You all know Cam, so he's going to be good.
0-2, obviously, it's not where you guys want to be, but an opportunity next week with a division opponent coming in, kind of turn things around. Is that kind of how you're looking at it heading into this week?
Yeah, for sure. division games are huge games. We come back and win that, it's going to put us on the right track. And then after that, we've got another division game. So, we're just focusing now. We're flushing this behind us these last two weeks, and we're moving forward going on to the next.
