How much fun was today for you when you hit that stride?
It was a lot of fun. That's what I was preaching all week, you know what I'm saying? Just handle business, but don't forget to have fun. Remember why we play this game, and we had a lot of fun today.
You guys chipped away at them time and time again on the ground. What were you seeing? What was the matchup that was working out so well?
Yeah, it was just the guys up front was getting a lot of movement. So we were like, 'Man, let's keep at it.' Let's keep going. It's working, so let's keep doing it. And we came out on top.
Four catches, 59 yards. You were doing it through the air too as well on your end.
That's this offense. It's going to take everybody. But as a running back, you've got to be out to catch the ball, you've got to be able to pass pro(tect), you've got to be able to run the ball. We were able to put that on display today.
How sweet was again across midfield there in overtime and setting up for Ka'imi (Fairbairn), and what was your vantage point of the field goal?
Man, we know Kai (Ka'imi Fairbairn) can kick it, so that's all we were preaching. Just get across midfield, if we can't get a touchdown, give him a chance. And we gave him a chance and he came through for us.
I know the Oilers are a little before your time, but they really leaned into that logo and those colors today. Was that a storyline for you guys and the fact they really kind of rubbed that in your face?
I wouldn't say that. Those are some sweet colors, by the way. For us, it was just come out and get a win. We're going to see those guys again in two weeks. That's what it was.
