On the Roster: Fourth Rounders

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Titans have four players they selected in the fourth round in the past three NFL Drafts and eight players in total who were selected in that round.

Tennessee selected cornerback Alterraun Verner with the 104th pick in 2010, linebacker Colin McCarthy at 109 and running back Jamie Harper at 130 in 2011 and defensive back Coty Sensabaugh at 115 in 2012.

Verner has made 31 starts and hasn't missed a game. He made an immediate impact as a rookie when he started 12 games, recorded 103 tackles and three interceptions. Verner started all 16 games in 2012 when he recorded 78 tackles (seven for loss), two interceptions and forced and returned a fumble 72 yards for a touchdown against Detroit with a heads-up play.

McCarthy also made a mark during his rookie season when he started seven of 13 games and recorded 76 tackles (eight for loss), forced two fumbles and recovered two fumbles. He was voted by teammates as a defensive captain in 2012. McCarthy, however, suffered a high ankle sprain in the season opener that cost him multiple games and a concussion that was diagnosed after Tennessee's game Jacksonville (Nov. 25) that cost him the rest of the season.

Harper and Sensabaugh, who were teammates at Clemson before reuniting in Tennessee, have played primarily in reserve roles on their sides of the ball and on special teams. Sensabaugh played in all 16 games and made three starts as a rookie.

The Titans also drafted tackle David Stewart in the fourth round with the 113th pick of the 2005 NFL Draft and receiver Lavelle Hawkins with the 126th pick of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Stewart has started all 104 games he's played and is rehabbing a leg injury he suffered in Week 12 last year. Hawkins has played in 52 games and had a career-high 47 catches for 470 yards in 2011.

Defensive linemen Thaddeus Gibson (116th pick by Pittsburgh in 2010) and Sammie Hill (115th by Detroit in 2009) are the other two fourth-round picks on Tennessee's roster. Gibson spent part of 2012 on the practice squad and signed a future contract, and Hill signed with Tennessee as a free agent this offseason. Tennessee is scheduled to have one pick in the fourth round (107th overall) of this year's NFL Draft on April 27. Click here to visit Titans Draft Central.
