Yeah, it's a good feeling. We did, we came together, and I'm proud of this team. How it was time to wake up. So, we did what we had to do. All personnel, on offense, defense, special teams. I am glad we got the victory.
We talked about you guys up front getting it done. You close the deal with the sacks up front, and offensively, you rush for 160 yards. So, at the line of scrimmage, you guys won this football game today.
Yeah, man, I just can't thank Arden Key, Jeffery Simmons, and the rest of the young guys out there. But I want to give a special shout out to Dennard (Wilson). Dennard has been very consistent in everything. He's got our backs, and at the end of the day, when we need to be heard, he's out there listening. So, shout out to Dennard (Wilson)
How big was that two points?
Very big. It's next play mentality. You know what I'm saying? It was his next play. And you know, this isn't surprising when we see Jeff (Simmons) do stuff like that. I actually visioned him doing that, before the play even started. I'm like, man, Jeff is about to blow up and just get a tackle for loss, and call it a day. So, shout out to him.
I don't want to put one game before the next here, but you guys just got your first home win, in 412 days. Now you can go for your first back-to-back wins in, I think it's been, 2023 or 2022?
We've just got to keep every game, as a home game. And most importantly, it's all about finishing strong. We're just out here, finishing strong, and that's all I can say on that.
How did it feel to get a victory today, a home victory, and you got a sack?
I feel good, man. You know, at the end of the day, we got two more. The sacks are going to come, man. You can't really rush it. You have got to do what you have got to do. You have got to do your job. I think everybody did their job, and we've just got to keep continuing to do our jobs. That's how the play came to me.
Walk through your sack, and how you knew you had him?
This quarterback, he's a hell of a quarterback. You know, he was scrambling, and we just had to keep getting him in the pocket. And we just had to contain him. We just do our games, and we have a rush plan. Once we get our rush plan, we keep him in the pocket so he won't scramble, and we got him.
