NASHVILLE – The Titans returned to the practice field on Wednesday at Ascension Saint Thomas Sports Park.
The team will face the Minnesota Vikings in preseason game No.3 on Friday night at Nissan Stadium.
Here's a look at all the developments from today's practice …
-The biggest development of the day was the return of cornerback L'Jarius Sneed.
The team on Wednesday morning activated Sneed from the team's Physically Unable to Perform list, which means he passed his physical.
Sneed missed significant time last season with a quad injury, and he ended the year on Injured Reserve. Sneed also had a knee clean-up procedure in May.
"It feels great to be back," Sneed said. "It's been a process. I've been trusting the process day in and day out, putting my work in, and I'm on the field now."
How confidence is Sneed that he'll be ready to go Week 1?
"I'll be very confident," Sneed said. "Just taking the process day by day, getting my work in, and making sure I'm ready for it."
Sneed said he needs to work on his conditioning, and he needs to clean up his technique. Sneed took part in an individual period early, but his overall work was limited in Wednesday's session.
In time, Sneed he expects to return to form.
"The physicality is going to come," Sneed said. "That's who I am – I've been in the league six years now, and that's who I am, a physical corner. I just have to get my technique down.
"When it's time for the lights to come on, you'll see a whole different L'Jarius Sneed."
-Quarterback Cam Ward had a good day on Wednesday, including a pair of red zone periods when he tossed five touchdowns. Ward went 3-of-7 in a 7-on-7 period, with touchdown tosses to tight end Chig Okonkwo an receiver Bryce Oliver. In a team red zone period, Ward connected with receiver Tyler Lockett, receiver Van Jefferson and receiver Chimere Dike for scores. I had Ward at 12-of-15 in the team periods today, making him 15-of-22 on the day. Ward overthrew an open Elic Ayomanor downfield but overall was pretty accurate.
-Okonkwo had a nice day, with a catch on the very first play of the team periods, and a touchdown catch on the first play of 7-on-7s. I had Okonkwo with three catches on Wednesday.
-Oliver made the catch of the day when he went up high and snatched a football out of the air, with cornerback Darrell Baker defending. Oliver landed inbounds for a touchdown.
-Dike also had three catches on the day, with a touchdown.
-Linebacker Cedric Gray continues to make plays. Gray broke up a Ward pass intended for tight end Gunnar Helm in the end zone. For a second it looked like Helm would make a catch similar to the one he made in the preseason game Atlanta, but Gray was having none of it.
-Linebacker Cody Barton provided nice pressure on one play, forcing Ward to throw the ball away.
-Receiver Xavier Restrepo had a nice day, with two catches, including one for a touchdown. The TD catch, on a ball thrown by quarterback Brandon Allen, was a beauty.
-Tight end Josh Whyle had a pair of catches, as did Lockett, Oliver and Restrepo.
-Van Jefferson had a pair of grabs as well, and put together nice practices in back-to-back days.
-Running back Tony Pollard showed some serious burst on one touchdown run, and he added a short touchdown run a few plays later.
-Defensive back Amani Oruwariye had a nice break-up on a ball intended for TJ Sheffield.
-QB Brandon Allen was 1-of-3 in the 7-on-7 period and 3-of-4 in the team periods.
-QB Trevor Siemian was 2-of-2 in the 7-on-7 periods and 1-of-4 in the team periods.
-Center Lloyd Cushenberry has been practicing a pretty good bit this week after being taken off PUP last week.
-Kicker Joey Slye did not kick on Wednesday. Slye is 41-of-46 in the training camp practices in Nashville.
-Right tackle J.C. Latham did not practice after leaving Tuesday's session early.
-Receiver Calvin Ridley did not practice again because of soreness.
-RB Tyjae Spears did not practice.
-Safety Kevin Winston Jr. did not practice.
-Defensive lineman T'Vondre Sweat did not practice.
-Defensive lineman Isaiah Raikes did not practice.
-Receiver Matt Landers did not practice.
-Defensive back Kendell Brooks worked in a yellow jersey, wearing a brace on his arm.
-Offensive lineman Brendon Jaimes went inside early.
