NASHVILLE – The Titans currently have the 11th overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, along with a lot of needs.
On Friday, NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah held a conference call leading up to next week's NFL Combine in Indianapolis, so I asked him what the best-case scenario might be for the Titans.
Jeremiah pointed to the offensive line, just days after the team released left tackle Taylor Lewan.
He's a big fan of Northwestern's Peter Skoronski.
"Obviously tackle is going to be a glaring need for them," Jeremiah said of the Titans. "If you ask me absolute best-case scenario, I'd say somehow Skoronski gets there from Northwestern. I think he can play tackle. I think he could be an unbelievable guard as well. But Skoronski would be my dream scenario.
"And while I don't think that's going to happen, you start getting all these quarterbacks coming off the board and we end up getting four go and you have those top defensive players, then maybe it's not the craziest thing in the world that he would somehow make it to them."
While Jeremiah said Skoronski would be his "best-case" scenario, "you are looking at receiver as another need there."
The Titans drafted receivers Treylon Burks and Kyle Philips in last year's draft. Earlier this week, the team also released Robert Woods.
"I don't think it's a great receiver draft, but I really do like Jordan Addison (from USC)," Jeremiah said. "The one reason that might not happen is because he is kind of similar to Robert Woods. So if that wasn't what they were looking for – of they wanted to get bigger there – then TCU has (Quentin) Johnston who is a big, fast, physical kid."
