Michael Roos Among Top Ironmen of His Era

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Titans left tackle Michael Roos appears on the injury report this week with a knee injury. If he misses this week's contest, it will mark only the second time he has missed a game — or a start — since being selected in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

Previously, the only time Roos was unable to be in the team's starting lineup was Oct. 28, 2012 following an emergency appendectomy.

Among NFL offensive linemen, nobody has played in more games than Roos since he was drafted out of Eastern Washington. The next-closest player is current Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola, who has notched 145 games in the same time period.

Only nine total NFL players—punter Donnie Jones, punter Michael Koenen, punter Shane Lechler, punter Andy Lee, quarterback Eli Manning, punter Mike Scifres, tight end Jason Witten, long snapper John Denney and long snapper Mike Leach—have played in every possible game from 2005 through the present.

Roos is in elite company in terms of career games played in the history of the Titans/Oilers. He currently is in 11th place among all players in franchise history and fifth among offensive linemen. The only offensive linemen ranked higher than him are Bruce Matthews (296), Brad Hopkins (194), Mike Munchak (159) and Benji Olson (152).
