LS Ross Matisik

How hard of a job was it that DaVon (Hamilton) had to come in and do?

He did great. He did phenomenal. D-Ham is my guy and I kept telling him on the sideline the second half, thanks for having my back because that's a tough job. I think if you ask any snapper in the league or anybody that's done it, they'll say the same thing. There's some nerves involved. Protecting's hard, but he did phenomenal. I'm really proud of him.

What was it like for you? Obviously you go out and then were able to come back in. Can you take us through your day and how that even came to fruition?

I got a little nicked up. We have the best training staff in the league. They were able to get me back on the field and wasn't 100 percent, but these guys are my brothers and I knew I was good enough to go. I appreciate what D-Ham did for me, but I was ready to step back into my role. I was able to get back out there and do my job.

Not often do you see the punter and the long snapper in the middle of a scrum.

Yeah, that's my guy. Logan's (Cooke) my best friend, he married me, me and my wife. Anytime you see him in the scrum, I got his back. That's my guy. Saw him in the middle of it and had to intervene.

Was it kind of fun?

I'm not going to say it's fun but I have his back. I just kind of ran in there trying to get my guy out of the mix. What happened, happened. Not necessarily proud of it, but nine's my guy and I have his back 'til the end.

Will you be okay going forward?

Oh yeah.

How big of a deal is it with the AFC South on the line next week?

It means everything. That's why you do it, right? Meaningful games in November and December. And we have a chance at something special here. We're going to get back to work tomorrow, and right the wrongs, and correct the ship and keep this thing rolling.
