How much pride do you take in yourselves to be the most physical team, week in, week out.
No question, we pride ourselves on being a complete team. Physicality is a part of the game, and we love that part of game. So, we had to set the tone early, and thankfully we was able to get the win. Great team win on both sides of the ball.
How did it set the tone when Kenny comes up with a pick six right away?
Oh man, I mean, Kenny (Moore II), that's the type of player he is. Special, lightning in the bottle and it struck early, got the team going. Listen, when he gets in the end zone early like that, I'm like, look, you might go for two, might go with three, you know how he usually gets. So, I'm glad Kenny was able to get that play early and get the offense going.
I know you have campaigned previously for Jonathan Taylor. What should people take notice of based on what he did today?
Yeah, I don't think it's really a question at this point. I think he's the best back in the league. Just his combination of power, speed, change of direction. He's been making plays from the backfield. And honestly, I think the biggest improvement that he's made is in his pass protection. I noticed that in training camp. He's a complete back. There's nobody else playing like him right now.
A 3-0 start, a win within the division before the end of September. How has this team positioned itself through the first three weeks of the season?
Man, we're just going to continue to get better, man. We've got a lot of things to clean up, a lot of things to get better, you know, Shane (Steichen) preaches about being the best versions of ourselves every week, so we are just going to keep getting better, keep continuing to grow and learn. But Lou (Anarumo) always tells me it's better to learn after a win than a loss, so we're going to keep learning after a win.
Week 3, for whatever reason, has been kind of like a trap week for some teams in the NFL. You guys preached focus and discipline all week. What does it say about this team coming out with a 21-point win after preaching all that?
I think at the end of the day, it really wasn't even about them, it was about us. Today was just an opportunity for us to play our brand of football. Offensively, be efficient and take care of the ball. Defensively, play physical, execute and take the ball away. So, and then we even got a punt in today, so congratulations to Rigo(berto Sanchez). So, I think it was just a complete team win and we just got to continue to build on it.
What kind of message does a win like this send to the rest of the league?
I hope to send a message to the division that we're ready to go. So, like I said, we have to continue to grow, continue to build, and we're going to get better every week after week.
