NASHVILLE, Tenn. —** Titans coach Mike Mularkey met with reporters on Monday on the first day of the team's offseason program.

Here's a look at some of the hot topics: On Marcus Mariota's injury/health …

"He is walking around. You would not know that he's had the extent of an injury that he had. He is doing good – he is on track. I am not going to forecast when he's going to start doing normal, functional exercises. He is … probably ahead of schedule. But I am not going to put out there a timeline."

On the excitement at start of offseason program …**

"It is good to see all their faces, and you can tell they've been working out. They look very well-conditioned. I think they are happy to be back. It is good to be coaching again. We have missed that time with them. … I know they are all anxious to get back in it. Are they all anxious to get back into training camp today? I don't know if they're that anxious, but I think they are all glad to be back and in the Phase One."

On the team parting ways with cornerback Jason McCourty …

"We tried to make it workable for both sides, but it didn't come out that way. There is no good time whenever you have to let a player go, especially with Jason, who I have utmost respect for. He is a consummate pro, and I told that to the team this morning. If you want to see how to do things the right way and play a long career, how he handles himself on and off the field is what we want. It is just unfortunate that we couldn't work things out where we could stay together. I think this is really a good time for both of us to move on."

On players reporting for start of offseason program. (When asked, Mularkey said only running back Derrick Henry and cornerback Bennett Okotcha were absent on Day 1) …**

"Other than that it was a full house. The invite is out, the letter went out to them months ago. It is not mandatory, so whoever showed today. … It is their choice. Maybe I used to get disappointed, but I … have no control over it. It is their option, their choice, whatever they feel is best for them. I do know this: We've had coaches down in Tuscaloosa for the (Pro Day) and I've seen some video of Derrick in the weight room. He is absolutely working out, and I know he is in great playing shape right now. I have no concerns about it, and won't."

On the need to address secondary further in NFL Draft …

"It is a good draft for secondary, no doubt about it -- safeties and corners. We are looking at all positions as we always do."
