You guys have been able to stack, yeah, that's got to mean more than, right?
For sure, for sure. I think we've got a little bit of an identity here in terms of what we've been able to do. We know that we can hang our hat on that in a lot of ways. So proud of the guys, proud of whole offense. Of course, up front, we're real proud of that.
9-6 at halftime, you come out in the second half and put a long one together to make it a two-score game. That seemed to be like a stake in the ground moment.
It feels like we hadn't done that in a long time. Been a while since we did that. That was awesome. Cam (Ward) made some great plays to extend the drive, and that's what you want to have at quarterback. Man, that was great to just go down and score, and really great job.
Did Jeff Simmons report? Because we saw him put his hand up.
I thought he did. Yeah. I was tired, I was ready to come off the field. But, hey, he scored last week, so it evened up.
What's it say about the character of this team being able to finish this season so strong?
Yeah, I mean, guys have really stayed in it, man. We've had some lows, some low lows. The guys have come to work, guys have worked hard. Guys were trying to find solutions on how to be better, and guys are continuing to get better. So, just proud of the group of guys. Man, when you hit these moments and you're losing a lot of games, I mean, it just feels low. It's hard to be motivated, but this group has really stayed in it.
When it comes to the run game, and we talk about establishing an identity kind of here at the end of the season, how strong has it been just since the beginning when the commitment became we're going to push the run game because we have the guys who can do it?
Yeah, for sure. I mean, I think it starts with our staff and them, you know, really believing in us and trusting us. And then just our group, just saying, 'Hey, let's be the group to really make this go and get the run game going.' I think that's been the catalyst of all of our success.
We were here talking to Tony Pollard, he's closing in on 1,000 yards again. He's gotten stronger as the year has gone on. What have you seen from him?
Totally, man. We've had some games where he had to go away from him. He's had the best attitude about it. I'm glad that we're rewarding him, but we've got to get him over 1,000.
Do you guys as an offensive line take pride when you have a 100-yard rusher like that? He's done it in three straight games now.
Yeah, no doubt. I think we all wanted to get him over 100 at the end there. I think that was a cool moment, so it's a credit to him and his ability, but also just the whole unit.
