Suwanee, Ga. — Titans tight end Jared Cook continued to fight breast cancer and raise awareness by hosting his third-annual charity basketball tournament.
The Jared Cook Tip-Off Classic was held earlier this month at Cook's alma mater, North Gwinnet High School, during the Titans' bye week.
The tournament was a three-day event with eight participating schools. The event also included a silent auction containing memorabilia from various players across the NFL, in which proceeds went to the Greater Atlanta affiliate of the Susan G. Komen For the Cure Foundation.
"It's my alma mater, and I was glad to be there," Cook said. "My friends are the coaches now and to be there to support them, my old team and a great cause was an awesome feeling."
Cook has been affected personally by breast cancer, with his mother, Yulinda Cook, successfully overcoming the disease. Since then, Cook has become a committed crusader against breast cancer and continues to dedicate himself to working with the Susan G. Komen Foundation in Georgia and Tennessee.
