How do you feel about I guess a loss like this, and just kind of the way that you guys have started the season?
Yeah, I mean, it's bad. I mean we just can't finish out with a win. I say we just have got to look at ourselves in the mirror. Even me, I'll say, just have got to correct ourself first, before we talk about anybody else. Look ourself in the mirror, and just take responsibility in the work that we did out there. It wasn't good enough. We just have to come back tomorrow, talk about it, go over the mistakes, the bad plays, and all be on the same page. You just have to forget about it, and go on to next week.
Is there a belief in this locker room, that it can be turned around this season?
Oh yeah, most definitely. I mean, this is the beginning of the season. You know, we're not going to hold our heads down like it's over. We still have got time. It's just that we have to correct some stuff. Like, we have be on it, right now. We just can't keep going along saying we got to get it, and get over it. We just have to look ourselves in the mirror, like I said, and really have got to move on, and just play. It's a long season ahead of us.
Usually, you've got to grab on to something that you can build from. What does this team build from? Where do you guys build from right now?
Yeah, I mean, it's the league. I mean, stuff is gonna get hard. We've been through stuff like this before. We're taking losses, after losses. I just feel like we have got to get out that mud. We got to get out. We got to correct ourselves. We got really come together as a team. Watch this game together. We've got to come together. This is when I feel like the public is going to be against us, pointing fingers and everything. And that's not how I'm looking at it, by pointing fingers. It's us. We have got to start it off.
How do you have that internal belief, that it's going to be different?
I mean, I feel like everybody's going to say 'it's going to be different'. We have really got to go out there, and prove it, and show it. We don't know how it's going to be next week. We don't know what's going be talked about. All I know, is we need to watch this game and correct it right away, and figure out what's going on, from the top to the bottom.
Did you guys think you were flat? Did you think this team was ready to go?
Most definitely. We came out flat. You can just tell. Just from the vibe, from the mistakes, and stuff. And I feel like we could do way better. I feel we left so much out there on the plate. It wasn't about what they were doing. It was about what we weren't doing. We were not executing plays. We weren't on the same track. I feel that's just us. It's really all about us, and looking ourselves in the mirror, and correcting ourselves before we talk about anybody else. That's how I feel.
You guys were 0-3 last season. How do you avoid the same finish, from this point forward?
It's hard going 0-3, and doing exactly that again. I feel like we have got to have a change coming around here. We've got to change something up. We've got to take responsibilities in the stuff, and not just point the fingers. Really. I mean, this league is not going to get that much easier, as we go by. I mean it's still the beginning of the season, so we can turn this thing around, so I'm just staying on a positive note.
