Patrick Mahomes provides a lot on the field, what do you miss with just his presence and with him not being here today?
Yeah you know Pat (Mahomes), he has played a lot of ball and has gotten a lot of experience and he's a great leader. So, we need guys to step up, I need to step, some other players need to step up and take that role in the next couple weeks.
Was that a specific intent today? I mean obviously we saw you and Trey Smith kind of lighting up some teammates. Was that the specific intent you had going in there?
Yeah, it's our job to be leaders. You know, we've been here a while, we played a lot of ball here. So, it's our job to be leaders.
Going through what you guys went through last week, could you tell that Gardner Minshew was dealing with it, he tried to play through his knee injury, just how difficult was it to see another quarterback go down?
Yeah, it sucks. It's horrible to see, obviously, I hope he's all right, and it sucks to see.
Playing with Esa (Pole) and Chu (Chukwuebuka Godrick), just how do you feel like they tried to play their best throughout the course of the game?
Yeah, proud of them. They stepped up, had a lot of injuries on the line, and they've stepped up. And they're doing their job, so I'm proud of them.
What do you expect from the guys Thursday after this effort?
Yeah, I expect to go out there and play 100 percent. Play our best ball that we got. So, for us, it's about getting back in there, making sure we're ready to roll Thursday.
When you say it's not good enough, just what jumps to your mind? When you say that, what comes of it?
Execution, yeah. Execution, too many penalties, things like that. Execution.
