NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Titans punter Brett Kern has an upcoming fundraiser in which people hope to hold hot hands of poker while lending their helping hands.
Kern will be hosting his second Texas Hold 'em Tournament and Silent Auction on Saturday, April 13 at Forrest Crossing Golf Course, 750 Riverview Drive in Franklin. The event is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. with a dinner served by Chick-fil-A of Brentwood.
All proceeds will benefit the Niagara Power Fellowship of Christian Athletes baseball team that Kern's father, Cal Kern, operates as general manager. Niagara Power is in the New York Collegiate Baseball League, a wooden bat developmental league that brings in players for games each summer.
The guest list includes Titans kicker Rob Bironas and former Titans/Oilers great Blaine Bishop, Nashville Predators coach Barry Trotz and Predators defenseman Jonathon Blum.
A minimum donation of $25 registers each player for the tournament, which has room for 80 players. **Click here to register for the tournament**.
Each player will receive approximately 40-50 chips of the same value. As players are eliminated, tables will be combined. If a player is eliminated, he or she will be able to buy back in for an additional $25 and receive the same amount of chips as at the start.
The winner will receive Chick-fil-A for a year, the second-place finisher will receive Chick-fil-A sandwiches for a year, and the third-place finisher will receive a $75 gift card to an area restaurant.
The night will also include a silent auction with sports and country music memorabilia, golf lessons and a runner's makeover.
