A Whirlwind of Excitment Over the Last Few Weeks

!
Where do I begin?  The last time I posted a blog the team was 1-5, coming off a win against the Redskins on the road and headed into a bye week.  There was a question on how the team would respond with a bye, and if we'd be ready to come back to work. Well, since the bye we are 5-2, with the last four games being dramatic come from behind memorable games.

We first beat Houston after the bye, to get our second win.  As nice as it was to get the victory, we followed up with a tail kicking down in Jacksonville, a close loss to Baltimore against Nashville's favorite superstar, Steve McNair, and finally getting another win against the Eagles on the road.

Since the Philly game there has been non-stop buzz around Nashville about what the team has done over the last four weeks.  Beginning with the Giants game, when we had a 21-point fourth quarter come back.  Vince Young showed why he was our number one draft pick as he made some huge plays downfield and even more so with his legs running the ball.  Who will forget the gift of escape by the Giants when Vince was suddenly let go only to gain a first down on fourth and 16?

The following week Indy came to town riding the Peyton pony, only to be upset when Rob Bironas kicked a 60 yard field goal to finish off the Colts!

Then as if the drama wasn't enough, we travel down to Houston expecting a close game, and it was exactly what we got as the game went into overtime.  With a third down and long in plus territory, we needed someone to make a big play to stay alive.  Who would've guessed that Vince Young would be that guy?  Facing an eight-man blitz, Vince stood in the pocket, checked out the receivers then decided to keep the ball himself.  After picking up a couple of key blocks by Bobby Wade then Courtney Roby, Vince found himself in the end zone on a 39-yard run to win in sudden death!  Come on, I mean this is stuff legends are made out of and Vince is doing it -- as a rookie!

Well, it's back home against our division rival Jaguars.  I don't expect the same outcome as the last time we faced Jacksonville, as our team is playing with a lot more confidence and a little more swagger.  It should be another exciting game and I look forward to the challenge.
