20 Things That Caught My Eye On the First Unofficial Depth Chart For Titans in 2021

NASHVILLE – The Titans released their first 2021 Unofficial Depth Chart on Monday morning.

The first thing I noticed was the word "Unofficial" written in bold letters across the top, with the words, 'As of August 8, 2021' under it. Keep in mind the Titans aren't even two weeks into training camp, and they're roughly five weeks away from the regular season opener against the Cardinals in September 12 at Nissan Stadium.

So, yes, it's early. On Friday night, the team will play its first preseason game in Atlanta against the Falcons.

But, still, everyone loves taking a peek at the initial depth chart.

Here's a look at 20 things that caught my eye when I got my hands on it:

-The Titans listed an offense with a three-receiver set, with Julio Jones, A.J. Brown and Josh Reynolds the starters.

-Behind the top three, receivers Marcus Johnson, Chester Rogers and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are the next three in line at each spot, with Cameron Batson, Mason Kinsey, Kalija Lipscomb, Racey McMath, Fred Brown, and Dez Fitzpatrick behind them.

-A slash separates Ty Sambrailo and Kendall Lamm for the starting spot at right tackle, which means they're listed as first team right now.

-Second-round pick Dillon Radunz is listed as a back-up to Nate Davis at right guard.

-Aaron Brewer, who remains on the team's Non-Football Injury list, is Rodger Saffold's back-up at left guard.

-Geoff Swaim is listed as the starter at tight end (in a one-tight end set), ahead of Anthony Firkser. Behind them, Tommy Hudson, Luke Stocker, Jared Pinkney, Miller Forristall and Donnie Ernsberger round out the depth chart at tight end.

-Darrynton Evans, Jeremy McNichols, Brian Hill and Mekhi Sargent are listed as Derrick Henry's back-ups, in that order, on the first depth chart.

-No surprise that Logan Woodside is listed as Ryan Tannehill's back-up at QB, ahead of Matt Barkley.

-With the three-receiver set on the depth chart, a starting fullback wasn't listed, but Khari Blasingame not surprisingly is listed ahead of fellow fullback Tory Carter on the running back depth chart.

-Derick Roberson and John Simon are the back-up outside linebackers behind starters Bud Dupree and Harold Landry, with Wyatt Ray, Ola Adeniyi and Rashad Weaver further down on the depth chart.

-Jackrabbit Jenkins and Kristian Fulton are listed as the starting cornerbacks.

-The depth chart on defense includes a 3-4 look, with four defensive backs, so a nickel corner isn't listed.

-The back-ups at cornerback are listed as Chris Jackson and Breon Borders ahead of Chris Jones, Briean Boddy-Calhoun, Kevin Peterson, Caleb Farley and Elijah Molden.

-Dane Cruikshank and Matthias Farley are listed as Kevin Byard and Amani Hooker's back-ups at the safety position, ahead of Brady Breeze and Maurice Smith.

-Trevon Coley is starter Denico Autry's back-up at defensive end.

-Larrell Murchison is listed as No.2 behind Jeffery Simmons at defensive tackle, with Naquan Jones listed at No.3.

-Teair Tart is listed ahead of Kyle Peko and Anthony Rush at nose tackle.

-Tucker McCann is listed No.1 on the depth chart at kicker, ahead of Sam Ficken.

-Chester Rogers is listed as No.1 on the dept chart at punt returner, ahead of Cameron Batson and Mason Kinsey.

-Darrynton Evans is listed at No.1 on the depth chart at kick returner, ahead of Cameron Batson.
