Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Vero Beach, Florida, but my wife and I have been in Nashville for almost 40 years. And wow how this city has GROWN!
Where did you go to college?
I graduate from Vanderbilt University (Computer Science and Mathematics). I also got my MBA from Owen Graduate School at Vanderbilt (Marketing and Operations Management) and a Masters in Education at Cumberland
Favorite moment from the 2020 season?
We had such an up and down season. We had all the parts, but keeping them together and healthy proved difficult. Because of that, I believe my favorite Titans moment really came down to the last game of the season. When the clocked ticked to zero and we were in the playoffs, it was a sigh of relief and a belief that it was a whole new season. We had work to do, and it was so exciting to see just what we could do! Going in I had such confidence in our chances.
Favorite Titans player (past or present or both)?
I was fortunate enough to get to know several players over time, but I had the pleasure of really getting to know Anthony Dorsett. We shared a love for speed bikes. He was a GREAT guy. I also recently got to meet AJ Brown when he visited out school for a workout. What a wonderful young man. Courteous, respectful. I thoroughly enjoyed speaking to him for a short time. And what a background! Not only is he an amazing football player but an excellent baseball player as well!!!
Favorite Nissan Stadium moment?
At the end of the day, you can't go wrong with the Music City Miracle. That was magic. But I have to say, there were two other more obscure moments I enjoyed. Early on in the Titans history, they would occasionally have fly overs during our national anthem. Two come to mind that were legendary. One was the B2 stealth bomber, and the other was what I think was a B52. Both looked like they were so low and LOUD!
Favorite Away Game moment?
I had the opportunity to fly with the Titans years ago as they went to Jacksonville to take on the Jags. That was the coolest experience I'd ever had with the Titans. It was a blast.
What are some of your Gameday traditions?
We are out the door early to beat the game day traffic. Titans jersey on and listening to the pre-game show on the radio. Then its food, fun and the atmosphere prior to the game that sets the stage. We get the chance to talk with friends we've made over the years in our section and get ready to get rowdy. I miss that and can't wait until we can get back in the seats together as one.
What is one item on your Titans bucket list?
The ultimate would be to go the Super Bowl with the Titans as their guest. But I think another really cool thing would be to experience game day from the point of view of the Titan. What is pre-game like, what is it like on the sidelines, halftime, post game. The whole experience. THAT would be fantastic…
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
Focus on the things you can control. We worry about so much in life about things we have no control over. And my favorite: Treat others the way YOU want to be treated. And listen.
Tell us a little about your life outside of the Titans (family, pets, hobbies, etc.)
I used to be in Sports and Entertainment marketing, but I am now a high school coach (football and baseball) and teacher (math) at The Ensworth School here in Nashville. I met my lovely wife, Nancy, of 32 years at Vandy. We are blessed with two college aged boys, both of whom play D1 baseball (Chandler at Belmont and Garrett at Xavier). We spend many of our weekends during their seasons traveling to watch them play. We also are huge animal lovers. We currently have 4 dogs and 2 cats (all rescues). We love to travel and have been to many countries with our boys all over the world. I am an avid collector of all types of autographed memorabilia. My wife, Nancy, is a consultant at the North Highland Company in Brentwood.
Best TV show(s) to binge?
During the pandemic, one thing we have watched A LOT of is television. I think we have subscriptions to just about everything there is! We have watched a number of great shows such as The Crown, Upload, The New Twilight Zone, The Mandalorian, The Queen's Gambit and Black Mirror. Of course we love ESPNs, 30 for 30 and E:60. When it comes to regular TV. We really got into Chicago PD and Manifest. There are so many more, I don't know where to end!
And with the 22nd pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, the Tennessee Titans select...
Either Joseph Ossai (Texas) EDGE or Erik Stokes (Georgia) CB
