Three Quick Hits from Friday's Practice

TEMPE, Ariz. —** The Titans just wrapped up practice on Friday at Arizona State University.

On Sunday, the team will face the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, California.

Three quick hits:

**

Morgan out**

Titans linebacker Derrick Morgan has been ruled out for Sunday's game.

Morgan also missed last week's game against the Cardinals with a knee injury.

Veteran Erik Walden will start in place of Morgan.

This week, coach Mike Mularkey raved about Walden when asked about his performance against the Cardinals, when he posted his fourth sack of the season while playing a season-high 56 snaps.

"He was effective from start to finish," Mularkey said of Walden. "I even asked him out here, 'How do you feel … after all of the reps on Sunday?' and he said he felt great. I thought he played really well for us. He played like you expect, he came in there, and that's why you sign him."

Stocker's chance?

The Titans signed former University of Tennessee tight end Luke Stocker last week, but he didn't play on Sunday against the Cardinals. He was one of the team's inactives.

That could change this week. With Phillip Supernaw slowed with an ankle injury, Stocker could be next man up. Supernaw was limited in practice on Friday, and he's questionable for the game.

"I've taken pride in learning my plays, so my coaches and teammates can depend on me," Stocker said. "I think I have a good grasp of the run game, and the playbook. I think I have shown I can handle the game plan and I'll be ready to go on Sunday if I get the opportunity."

Stocker (6-5, 253) was a fourth-round pick of the Buccaneers in 2011, and he's played in 80 games during his NFL career. He was released by the Buccaneers earlier this month. During his playing career, Stocker has hauled in 52 passes for 400 yards and three touchdowns. He has earned praise for his blocking ability during his career.

"Fortunately, a lot of verbiage is very similar to Tampa from Dirk Koetter running the offense in Atlanta, so that helped (him)," Mularkey said of Stocker. "I think it was good for him to get a week under his belt before we threw him right in the fire last weekend.

"It's nice that we've got a guy that's got some experience."

Other injuries

Titans tackle Taylor Lewan practiced again on Friday, and is expected to play on Sunday against the 49ers.

Lewan missed Sunday's game against the Cardinals with a back injury.

Safety Johnathan Cyprien (back) did not practice again on Friday and is questionable.
