You guys are so consistent against the run generally and to see you guys struggling to get a stop against Derrick Henry like you did, how odd was that? How unusual of a feeling was that for you guys?
"Definitely, we take pride in stopping the run. We didn't get the job done today. It comes down to execution. We didn't execute. That's what it came down to. We didn't execute today. We have to get back to the drawing board. That's about it for that one."
How much of a role does not having DeForest Buckner or Denico Autry affect the way you guys played on defense?
"DeForest (Buckner) is a great player. We understand that, but we take no excuses though. We understand that this is an NFL football game. Guys are up, guys are down, we have to be able to adjust. It comes down to that. We didn't get the job done today and we can't make any excuses about who was out. It's the NFL. Guys are going to be hurt, this is a weird year, COVID-19, everything. We can't make any excuses. We have to come out and execute and we didn't do that today."
Darius Leonard was talking earlier about getting hit in the mouth early in games and it shouldn't take that. Why do you think you guys have struggled out of the gate lately?
"I don't have an answer for that. It's something that we really need to get fixed. If we want to reach our goals this year, we have to correct that. It shouldn't take us getting punched in the mouth for us to come out and respond. We have to throw the first punch and we understand that. This is a boxing match at the end of the day, and if we don't throw the first punch and we get hit in our mouth, and that continuously happens then it needs to get corrected. That's something we need to fix."
