In celebration of 15 years of finding deserving shelter pets furever homes, Mars will host its biggest-ever Annual Mars Petcare Adoption Weekend, starting Friday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 1.

The annual event raises awareness for pet adoption and provides much needed support to animal shelters across the country.

Mars is covering up to $150,000 in adoption fees for cats and dogs in shelters across the country, including three shelters here in Nashville: Metro Animal Care and Control, Nashville Humane Association and Williamson County Animal Center.

Adoption Weekend comes as animal shelters across the country continue to struggle with overcrowding and resource constraints. More than six million pets enter U.S. shelters each year and even as interest in pet adoption has risen, the sad reality is more pets have entered shelters than left them in the first half of 2023. You can help change that trend! There has never been a better time to adopt your new four-legged best friend.
